The Platforms and Devices Group includes various Google computing software platforms across multiple environments (computers, mobile devices, applications), as well as devices and services developed directly by Google, optimally combining Google's AI, software and hardware. Teams in this field research, design and develop new technologies to help users interact with computing technology faster and more seamlessly, while delivering breakthrough experiences to users worldwide.Responsibilities
- Identify and implement plans related to product quality throughout the product development cycle, while ensuring every step in the cycle is executed efficiently.
- Build strategy and quality development framework for Joint Design Manufacturer (JDM). Manage quality resources at the factory, upgrade processes, performance and capacity, validate and deploy, and regularly assess factory quality.
- Manage the process of reporting quality issues at the factory, resolve product quality issues identified in the New Product Introduction (NPI) and Mass Production (MP) phases. Manage the factory failure analysis process, assess risks, handle and implement isolation/remediation/prevention measures.
- Establish appropriate quality metrics. Promote Design of Experiments (DOE) process and collect Statistical Process Control (SPC) data to evaluate, validate and verify manufacturing quality of all manufacturers and product lines according to agreement.
- Lead the aesthetic management process for products and material quality management in the Final Assembly, Testing and Packaging (FATP) phase.
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience in mobile device or consumer electronics manufacturing, specifically consumer electronics products related to displays, audio, coatings, wireless technology, mechanical molding printing.
- 2 years of experience in product quality development.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree in Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience supervising productivity improvement activities and reducing manufacturing cycle time.
- Experience preventing quality degradation issues from the early stages in the product development process, implementing quality issue escalation reporting procedures and continuously improving products with JDM partners.
- Experience applying quality metrics, understanding JMP critical measurement system analysis process, improving output quality range and implementing effective, cost-saving methods.
- Experience working with embedded systems, building digital logic circuit board creation processes and wireless subsystem testing.
- Ability to communicate fluently in Mandarin Chinese, English and Vietnamese to support customer relationship management in this region.
