Terms of Use

1. What the site is for

The site tells you about OV. It lets you apply to join, nominate someone, contact us, sign up for Summit updates, subscribe to OV news, apply to OV Ventures, send a partner enquiry, list an offer in OV Perks, recommend a podcast guest, and find, post and get alerts for roles on OV Jobs.

Membership, the member app and events are covered by our Membership Terms, which you accept when you join. For anything about membership, the Membership Terms apply.

2. Applying to join

• OV is invite-only. Sending an application does not make you a member, and it does not guarantee a reply, a call or an offer. We decide who joins.
• Give accurate and current information about yourself, and apply only for yourself.
• You must be at least 18 years old.
• We share membership details, including the price, during the application process.

3. Enquiries, nominations and recommendations

• An enquiry does not create a partnership or any obligation for either side. A partnership starts only with a written agreement, with Overseas Vietnamese Pte. Ltd. or with our company in Vietnam, Công Ty TNHH Overseas Vietnamese.
• Please do not send confidential information through the forms. Unless we agree otherwise in writing, we do not treat what you send as confidential.
• If you nominate someone or recommend a podcast guest, share only what you believe they would be comfortable with us having: their name, a public profile link, their email if you nominate them, and why. Do not share sensitive information about them.
• We decide who to invite to apply and which guests to invite.
• Applying to OV Ventures, as a founder or an investor, does not create any obligation for either side. Any investment happens only through the legal documents of each deal.

4. OV news

• OV news is free. We send news and stories from OV, a few times a month at most.
• When you subscribe, you agree that we email you OV news until you unsubscribe. Subscribe only with your own email address.
• Every email has an unsubscribe link. One click unsubscribes you, and we stop straight away. You can also email us to unsubscribe.
• We may change how often we send OV news, or stop it.

5. OV Jobs

• OV Jobs lists roles from employers’ own careers sites and roles posted by employers and members. We check roles when we add them, but employers decide who they hire. We do not promise that a role is still open, that its details are accurate, or that you will get a reply. Always apply on the employer’s site.
• Signing up and job alerts are free. Sign up only with your own email address. Every alert has a link to change or stop it.
• If you post a role, it must be a role your company is hiring for, posted with your work email. Agencies need our permission first. We review every post before it goes live, may decline or remove any role, and close posted roles after 45 days.
• Chat requests to members are for questions about a role or a company. Members choose whether to answer. Do not ask for a referral, a job or anything else they did not offer, and do not contact a member outside OV unless they accept.
• Do not copy or collect the job listings in bulk.

6. Using the site

You agree not to:

• Use the site to break the law or anyone’s rights
• Send false, misleading, offensive or unlawful content, or content that belongs to someone else without their permission
• Send spam or automated submissions, get around our bot protection, or overload the site
• Copy or collect content, or information about members, from the site in bulk, including to train AI models, without our written permission
• Try to access parts of the site or our systems that are not meant for you, or test them for weaknesses without our permission
• Pretend to be OV or a member, or suggest a link with OV that does not exist

We may block access or delete submissions that break these terms. If you find a security problem, please tell us at legal@overseasvietnamese.com.

7. Our content and brand

The text, photos, videos, logos, design and code of the site belong to OV or are used with permission, including from members and photographers.

You may view the site, share links to it and quote short parts with a link back. Anything else, including using the OV name or logo, or any photo of a member, needs our written permission.

8. What you send us

What you send stays yours. You allow us to use it to handle your application, enquiry or recommendation and to run OV, as our Privacy Policy explains.

If you send ideas or feedback, we may use them freely, without paying you or owing you anything.

9. Events and information on the site

We show gatherings, numbers and other information in good faith. Dates, places and details can change, and events can be cancelled. Gatherings shown on the site are for members unless we say otherwise.

We work to keep the site accurate, but we do not promise it is complete or up to date, or that it will always be available and free of errors.

Nothing on the site is investment, legal, tax or career advice. Nothing about OV Ventures on the site is an offer of securities or an invitation to invest.

10. Links to other sites

The site links to sites we do not run, such as LinkedIn, YouTube, Spotify and the member app. We are not responsible for their content or how they work.

11. Liability

The site is free to use and provided "as is". As far as the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for any loss of profit, data or opportunity, that comes from using the site or not being able to use it. Our total liability to you in connection with the site is limited to SGD 100.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow us to limit, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Nothing in these terms takes away your rights as a consumer under the law where you live.

12. Changes

We may change the site or these terms. The date at the top shows when the terms last changed. If you use the site after a change, the new terms apply.

13. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore, and the courts of Singapore decide any dispute about them. If you are a consumer living in another country, you keep the protection of your local laws and may also bring a claim in your local courts.

If any part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies. If we do not enforce a term straight away, we can still enforce it later.
