As an Advanced Manufacturing Engineer, you will design, develop, and scale precision assembly and measurement processes that directly shape the quality and reliability of Apple products.

You'll lead the research and development of novel automation technologies, own complex engineering challenges from concept through high-volume production, and collaborate with cross-functional teams and global manufacturing partners to continuously raise the bar.

Responsibilities

Own end-to-end design, development, and bring-up of automated and semi-automated manufacturing equipment and fixtures, covering precision alignment, assembly, and measurement applications from concept through high-volume production

Define equipment design requirements through detailed RFQ/RFPs; lead design reviews with machine suppliers throughout development, bring-up, and post-ramp improvements

Provide technical direction to third-party automation suppliers and contract manufacturers; travel to supplier facilities and factories for equipment bring-up, acceptance testing, and production builds

Engage early and continuously with product development teams to ensure new designs are mechanically manufacturable at scale; conduct machine DFM reviews and establish SOPs and assembly standards across the full product lifecycle

Lead machine qualification activities including FAT/SAT, Cp/Cpk, GR&R, and GD&T analysis; apply DOE, SPC, and Six Sigma to validate process scalability and control

Run structured experiments to characterize machine capability and drive measurable improvements in throughput, yield, and downtime

Drive failure analysis on yield detractors and reliability issues from equipment and process perspectives; compile data, develop corrective actions, and communicate findings to multi-functional stakeholders

Organize cross-functional reviews spanning machine requirements, design, qualification, and long-term capability

Support warehouse automation process development across APAC distribution centers

Minimum qualifications

Bachelor's or higher degree in Mechanical Engineering or relevant engineering fields

Minimum 3 years experience in automation equipment design, machine qualifications (DFM review), and advanced manufacturing process

Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to work effectively in a global environment and operate independently under pressure

Preferred qualifications
