Meet David.

David is a Consult Partner at Kyndryl, specialising in healthcare technology consulting. Born in Saigon, David lived in Malaysia for 18 months at nine, moved to the US in 1981 and has lived in Cambridge, Tampa, Chicago, San Francisco and Los Angeles. David leads OV SoCal so overseas Vietnamese there can share their stories.

What do you do, and where did you grow up?
I am a Consult Partner at Kyndryl. I specialise in healthcare technology consulting. I was born in Saigon, lived in Malaysia for 18 months when I was nine years old, and then moved to the United States in 1981. In the U.S., I've lived in Cambridge (Massachusetts), Tampa (Florida), Chicago (Illinois), San Francisco, and Los Angeles.
Why do you lead OV in your city?
I want to promote networking with other overseas Vietnamese in the SoCal community so we can share our collective stories. The older I get, the more I want to go back to my cultural roots.
One place in your city every Vietnamese visitor should know
In the SoCal area, there are just simply too many places for people to visit or see. For overseas Vietnamese, it's almost a must for everyone to visit Little Saigon (in Orange County). Here, you will find overseas Vietnamese who have built a Vietnamese community from scratch. One can argue that this community represents a bubble of overseas Vietnamese where their culture and perspectives have been preserved (and perhaps stuck) for eternity post the Vietnam War.
