Meet Ngoc-Tram.

Ngoc-Tram is a nonprofit law attorney. Born in Lagi, a fishing village three hours from Saigon, Ngoc-Tram moved to Minnesota at 12 and has lived in Massachusetts, Texas, Illinois and now New York. In every city, there was always that one Vietnamese friend or that one Vietnamese restaurant to feel grounded. Now Ngoc-Tram makes that happen for others.

What do you do, and where did you grow up?
I am a nonprofit law attorney. I was born and raised in Lagi, Binh Thuan (fishing village 3-hr drive from HCMC), moved to Minnesota when I was 12, and have lived in various states around the United States (MN, MA, TX, IL, and now NY).
Why do you lead OV in your city?
I love to host, organize, and plan, and I love being Vietnamese. In every city I have lived in, I have always sought that one Vietnamese friend, or that one Vietnamese restaurant to ground me. Now I get to be the one making that happen.
One place in your city every Vietnamese visitor should know
Soy Bean Chan Flower Shop in Flushing (the most affordable [$3!!] and nostalgically amazing sweet tofu pudding with ginger syrup)

Meet Paulina.

Paulina is a founder in music tech and grew up across a few states in the southern half of the US. The Vietnamese community in New York was once very small and has grown a lot in the last few years. As a first-generation Vietnamese American, Paulina knows what it means to find people who share your roots and live between two cultures.

What do you do, and where did you grow up?
I’m founder in music tech & I grew up in the southern half of the US across a few states.
Why do you lead OV in your city?
The Việt Kiều community in NY was once very small but has grown quite a bit in the last few years, which means there's a real need for connective tissue between us all. As a first-generation Vietnamese American, I know how much it means to find people who share your roots and understand what it's like to live between two cultures. I love helping people find their people, and leading OV lets me do that.
One place in your city every Vietnamese visitor should know
After Eden in LES, it’s one of the first Vietnamese focused cocktail bars that serves excellent food as well.
