- What do you do, and where did you grow up?
- I’m the founder of COMAI, a Vietnamese restaurant brand in Frankfurt, and a former M&A investment banker at Barclays. I grew up in Halle (Saale) in East Germany, with a deep connection to my Vietnamese roots. Today, I bring those two worlds together through food, entrepreneurship, and community.
- Why do you lead OV in your city?
- I want to build the kind of community where we feel understood, support one another, and form genuine friendships. Having grown up between German and Vietnamese cultures, I know how meaningful it is to connect with people who share that experience. My goal is to bring together the Vietnamese community in Frankfurt and the surrounding region, creating space for honest conversations about careers, identity, family, and the different stages of life.
- One place in your city every Vietnamese visitor should know
- I might be a little biased, but COMAI and Lai of course! I created it to bring Vietnamese culture to life through food. To me, food is a love language, and sharing a meal is one of the most natural ways to connect, exchange stories, and feel a little closer to home.
